VAT rates in Morocco in 2026

The 2024 Finance Act started a reform that brings Moroccan VAT down to three rates: 0 %, 10 % and 20 %. The transition was completed in 2026.

The rate depends on the product or service. For a specific case, check with your accountant or the tax authority (DGI). The former 7 % and 14 % rates are still useful to read an older invoice: use "Other".

From excluding VAT to including VAT

VAT = price excluding VAT × rate. Price including VAT = price excluding VAT + VAT, that is price excluding VAT × (1 + rate).

Example at 20 %: 1,000 MAD excluding VAT × 20 % = 200 MAD of VAT, so 1,200 MAD including VAT.

From including VAT back to excluding VAT

Price excluding VAT = price including VAT ÷ (1 + rate). VAT = price including VAT − price excluding VAT.

Example at 20 %: 1,200 MAD ÷ 1.2 = 1,000 MAD excluding VAT and 200 MAD of VAT. At 10 %: 1,100 MAD ÷ 1.1 = 1,000 MAD.

The calculator rounds to the centime, like an invoice, and always keeps excluding VAT + VAT = including VAT.
